Garden of Eatin': Sesame Blues Corn Tortilla Chips

"Got the blues? Good for you, since there’s nothing like these blues! These naturally blue tortilla chips deliver a hearty texture and an unforgettable true-blue flavor. Made with organic blue corn and tasty sesame seeds, Garden of Eatin'® Sesame Blues® Chips are a snack sensation that you will want to keep around for any snacking occasion. You know the secret words...Open sesame!."

These are so darn scrummy! My absolute favourite new snack. I wanted to try out a better snack alternative with less additives and found these at my local organic store. Having never tried blue corn before I was intrigued to see how different it would be, turns out, taste wise it's not a whole lot different, they taste great. They come in a bunch of other flavours from cayenne pepper, chilli and lime and nacho cheese to chia seed and also sweet potatoe (some of those varieties are in red, yellow and white corn not just blue). I got two smaller bags (they're also available in a larger size) and have already eaten both so I can't wait to pick up some more soon!

The sweet and sour...

  • Delicous. Light and crispy.
  • Yummy sesame flavour.
  • Gluten free. All natural, no preservatives or hydrogenated oil.
  • Blue corn is said to have lower starch content, lower GI and more protein.
  • Remember they are still chips so no matter if they're 'organic' or 'natural' they're still a junk food.
  • Nice alternative with less additives and maybe a little extra good than bad than some alternatives.

42g bag NZ $1.95 from Village Organics, Hamilton. 212g bag NZ $5.99-$7.80, so shop around.

Ingredients: Organic blue corn, expeller pressed oleic safflower and/or sunflower oil, organic sesame seeds, sea salt.

Let me know your thoughts! Are you a fan of blue corn?
