Burt's Bees: Lip Shimmer - Rhubarb

"Want your lips to speak volumes? Give them a smooch of luminescent color with our luscious Lip Shimmers. Shea Butter and antioxidant-rich Fruit Oils moisturize, nourish and soften lips naturally and lovingly. Choose our Radiance Lip Shimmer for a sheer glow or try one of our other beautiful shades. Now in three fresh and flattering new colors: Cherry, Plum and Strawberry!"

I really love this! It's my first and only Burt's Bees product that I've used and I can already see why this brand is a cult favourite. It's a gorgeous colour that you can build for a lighter or stronger shade and the peppermint makes my lips feel nice and plump. If it weren't for the size and price I would purchase it again as I really like it but it's a bit too much dinero for me to hand over for a teensy little stick, although its not too bad. Maybe I'm just cheap? However, it has left me eager to try other shades in the range and very interested in other Burt's products!

The sweet and sour...

  • Lovely rhubarb shade that you can build.
  • Long lasting, makes my lips feel plump and pouty.
  • Has a little shimmer, great for summer.
  • Really nice, effective product in lots of colours. 12/13 of them!

2.6g , NZ $16 (I'm sure I've seen it for twenty-something though)

Ingredients: ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, cera alba (beeswax, cire d’abeille), candelilla cera (euphorbia cerifera wax, cire de candelilla), mentha piperita (peppermint) oil, lanolin, theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, cera carnauba (copernicia cerifera wax, cire de carnauba), butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, fragaria ananassa (strawberry) seed oil, prunus armeniaca (apricot) kernel oil, ribes nigrum (black currant) seed oil, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, sambucus nigra (elderberry) seed oil, tocopherol, canola oil (huile de colza), glycine soja (soybean) oil, limonene. +/- (May contain/Peut contenir): CI 77019 (mica), CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (iron oxides), CI 75470 (carmine), alumina, CI 77891 (titanium dioxide)

  1. I love all the Burts Bees stuff. It's a little pricey for what it is, but I don't mind droping $5 or $6 for a quality product that works.

  3. I love their plain lip balms and they make a line of bath products for moms and babies (mama bee and baby bee) that are just amazing!

  5. I've never tried any of the Burts Bees range because.. well, I have nice lips and don't feel the need to buy balms and things like that for them but I love coloured glosses so I might have to see about giving this a crack.

Is it flavoured, or is that just the name of the colour?

  6. Rhubarb is just the name/colour, although it does taste a little minty because of the peppermint. If you do end up trying it or any other Burt's product let me know what you think of it. Thanks for reading!
